India Missing an Oppurtunity in Iran

After the assassination of Qasem Soleimani [the head of Iran’s elite Quds military force] under direct orders from the President of the United States in early 2020, I had advocated for a military alliance amonst the BRICS group of nations. In early 2026, with the domestic situation in iran turning unfavourable to the Iranian regime, multiple reports and statements by key people in the US administration openly calling for regime change has called for China and Russia to protect Iranian regime. India is unlikely join this effort against the West and this is expected. My analysis suggesting BRICS militray alliance against the West in an article titled “BRICS must define the scope of the Upcoming War” published in the Indian Defense Review on 11 January, 2020 is available in the given link. By not joining Russia and China as a member of BRICS, India is yet again missing a strategic oppurtunity.
